What to do when you can't connect with your student on Zoom
There are a few reasons why you might not be able to connect on Zoom.
1."Please wait for the host to start this meeting" message is popped up
In meetings automatically created by Cafetalk, the tutor is the host of the Zoom meeting. Being unable to enter means you might not be logged into the correct account - the account you used to connect Zoom to Cafetalk.
Please login on the official Zoom website into the account you've connected to Cafetalk.
*If you are already signed in, please log out and check your e-mail address. Sign in with the one connected to Cafetalk and go back to the request page. Click "Start Zoom" to enter the meeting.
If you still can't enter the meeting, please create a new meeting room on Zoom webpage and send the invitation link to the student via Cafetalk's comment section.
*In case of your metting being password protected, make sure to share the passcode with the student as well.
2. I can't enter the Zoom meeting when I click "Start Zoom" / I get an error message
There might be a problem with the meeting room.
If this is the case, please create a new meeting room on Zoom website and send the invitation link to the student via Cafetalk's comment section.
*In case of your metting being password protected, make sure to share the passcode with the student as well.
If your student also has Skype, you can switch to conducting the lesson there as an alternative method.
If you are having trouble creating a new meeting room, or if your student doesn't seem to be seeing the URL, please contact support through the chat box.
