What should I do if I don’t know the student’s Skype name
If the student hasn’t signed up for Skype?
Cafetalk will automatically or manually check every student’s Skype names, and if any student doesn’t have a Skype name, or if their Skype name is likely to be wrong, we will alert them and ask them to revise it.
If your student’s Skype name is not set when you receive a request, or if there is an obvious mistake in their Skype name (i.e. it has non-alphanumeric characters, spaces, etc.), please follow in accordance with the steps listed below.
Ask the student to check and revise their Skype name in the comment section at the time of confirmation.

- If the student is unsure of their Skype name or have further questions, please tell them to contact us via chat so that we can assist them.
- If you can’t confirm your student’s Skype name by the day of the lesson, please contact your student (before your scheduled lesson time) via the comment section in the request page while using your tutor name, and ask your student to contact you by Skype.
- If you don’t receive any form of contact from your student even after your scheduled lesson starting time, please check the page “What Should I Do If My Student Doesn’t Show Up?” which is situated in the middle of the request page.
