Cafetalk Lesson Translation System

While we translate your self-introduction to English, Japanese, Korean, simplified and traditional Chinese (whichever is applicable) for free, we do charge a small fee for having your lessons translated. On Cafetalk, all of our translators are professional and experienced and not only here to just translate, but localise your entire profile. To ensure the standard of our translations and guarantee you get the best translations possible, we ask 500 Points per lesson that you wish to have translated.

How do I go about requesting a translation?

First of all, you will need a student account that is linked to your tutor account. With that student account, you can request translations to English, Japanese, Korean and simplified and traditional Chinse via the Cafetalk translator.

How do I pay for translations? Do I need to buy points?

When you create a student account linked to your tutor account, you are awarded 500 points for free. Therefore, your first lesson translation won’t cost you anything. For additional translations, you can either purchase points or transfer points you have earned as a tutor to your student account. Learn how to transfer points to your student account here.

If you wish to make a partial point transfer please let us know how many points to transfer by sending an email to tutorsupport@cafetalk.com.

When should I request for my lessons to be translated?

We recommend requesting translation once you have started to earn points on Cafetalk. That way, you can use points you have earned as a tutor instead of having to purchase additional points.

What if my translation needs to be updated?

If you made changes to texts that were already translated by our localisation team, please send an email to tutorsupport@cafetalk.com and let us know as precisely as possible which lessons you changed and which part of the text needs to be adjusted. Depending on the amount that needs to be updated, we may ask you to purchase a new lesson translation. However, we will try to be as accommodating as possible and minor changes can usually be adjusted free of charge. Don’t hesitate to contact us and inquire about details if you are unsure.
