I Hear No Voice Sound
We explain how to deal with situations in which you hear no voice from yourself and a person you’re calling.
The Person You’re Calling Can’t Hear Your Voice.
If your voice can’t reach the person’s ear that you’re calling, check below.
- Your microphone is disconnected or turned off.

Is your microphone disconnected or turned off?
Please check out your mic again. - Your microphone is not properly working.
- Go to the Skype menu bar, and select Tools > Options > Audio settings, and test your mic. If the light blinks and the gauge moves according to your voice, your mic is properly working.
- Your microphone is set on mute.

Your mic might have a mute setting.
Please check if your mic is set on mute or not. - You haven’t updated your Skype to the latest version.

You Can’t Hear The Voice of The Person You’re Calling.
If you can’t hear the voice of the person that you’re calling, check below.
- Your speakers are disconnected or turned off.

Are your speakers disconnected or turned off?
Please check out your speakers again. - Your speakers are not properly working.

Go to the Skype menu bar, and select Tools > Options > Audio settings, and test your speakers by pressing the green button.
If you hear the sound, your speakers are properly working. - Your sound is set on mute.
- Check if your sound is set on mute or not. Turn the volume up for your speakers.
- You haven’t updated your Skype to the latest version.
